About me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog. I’m an 18-year-old student with a passion for the Northern League and Wearside League. I don’t really play football other than 5-a-side on a Friday night. If I play a sport, it’s normally tennis. I’ve just started to study for a degree in Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland having completed my A-Levels in the summer of 2016.  Occasionally I’ll be at games outside the North East, they could be anywhere really! Some will be Scotland, some will be West Yorkshire. In order to get to the games I rely on public transport.  I’m a season ticket holder at Durham Women and Sunderland Ladies having given up my Hartlepool United season ticket last year although I do still watch them from time to time. Last season I attended 190 games and in this coming season I’ll get to a good number but maybe not quite 190. I will be seen at more or less all Easington Colliery games where I’m in charge of social media, the matchday programme and press officer. I entered this role having left Horden CW who are now Darlington 1883 Reserves due to university commitments but I still do what I can to help what was Horden out. In the past I’ve been a Sunderland season ticket holder and as a child attended a lot of Shotton Comrades games. I don’t really enjoy watching football on TV. If there was a Northern League game or the Champions League on TV, I’d pick the Northern League game all the time.

I am a contributor to Women’s Sport UK which publicises women’s sport in the UK and this can be viewed here and I also contribute to many other websites such as Koast FM Sport. I also write for the University of Sunderland’s SportsByte website. My reports have been used in several matchday programmes as well as a range of football websites and I’d be more than happy to let any club use my reports. I’m programme editor for Easington Colliery as well as their media man running their website, Twitter and Facebook. If you’re planning a visit and want anything, just let me know and I’ll get it sorted for you. If your club has a special one off occasion for which they want a programme producing, I’ll give it a go if you like, just get in touch and I’ll be happy to help. Feel free to use my reports for whatever you want. If you’re wanting me to visit your club, just give me a quick message by whichever method you prefer.

  3. I have enjoyed reading about your travels this season, Connor. I am a Hartlepool United season ticket holder myself but you have inspired me to get to more Northern League games next season. Keep up the great work
